Damien English at the opening of Weaver’s Wood in Clonsilla
The Mayor of Fingal, Anthony Lavin and Damien English, T.D. Minister for Housing and Urban Development today (11 September), opened 33 homes in Weaver’s Wood, Clonsilla on behalf of Co-operative Housing Ireland.
Weaver’s Wood is located in a mature residential cul-de-sac 5 minutes’ walk from Clonsilla Railway Station. It adjoins Clonsilla Village and is close to Blanchardstown Centre and St. Mochta’s primary school & Hansfield Educate Together school.
The units are well designed, spacious, modern, A-rated homes with 2 car parking spaces per house. The 33 units comprise of 17 three-bed houses and 16 apartments, comprising six three-bed and 10 two-bed apartments. 31 units are occupied by tenants nominated by Fingal County Council from its own housing list and the remainder will be tenanted in the coming weeks.
Fingal County Council, the Housing Finance Agency, the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, G. McGreevy Construction and Downey Planning & Architecture collaborated to complete this project

The Action Plan for Housing and Homelessness includes a comprehensive Five Pillar approach – these pillars are the foundations upon which we will build our plan. They are open to debate, additions and amendments, but for now they will be our starting point for immediate action.
